AURORA | A look ahead at some of the games, tournaments and happenings in Aurora prep sports from March 23-29, 2017:

The Smoky Hill baseball team pays a 4 p.m. visit to Legend March 23 in a non-league meeting (weather permitting). The Regis Jesuit-Ralston Valley matchup scheduled for the same day was moved up, so the baseball slate includes Rangeview at home against Sheridan (4 p.m.) and Aurora Central at Overland (4:15 p.m.).

The Hinkley co-op boys swim team plays host to Northglenn/Thornton at 4 p.m. March 23 in as dual meet between teams that finished first and second at last season’s EMAC championships. The Thunderbirds prevailed 156-128 in a dual meet last season. Smoky Hill visits Grandview at 4:30 p.m. in a matchup of highly-competitive Centennial League programs.

Plenty of girls golf is in store for March 23 as the EMAC South plays a minor tournament at 10 a.m. at Saddle Rock G.C., the Centennial League meets at 1 p.m. at Family Sports G.C. and Regis Jesuit is in Fort Collins.

Cherokee Trail plays Rocky Mountain at Coors Field March 24 with a 3 p.m. first pitch scheduled for a rematch of foes in last season’s Class 5A state baseball title game (weather permitting). Seven Aurora teams are in play, with Eaglecrest set to play George Washington at All-City Field at 4:15 p.m. and Aurora Central, Gateway, Hinkley and Rangeview all playing at home in 4 p.m. contests.

Nearly a handful of Aurora track teams head to the Broomfield Shootout March 24 with the increasingly popular meet set to begin at 10:30 a.m. at Everly Montgomery Field (weather permitting). Aurora Central, Cherokee Trail, Grandview and Hinkley are part of a multi-classification mix of 45 teams. Meanwhile, Cherokee Trail and Regis Jesuit head to Arizona for the Chandler Rotary Invitational.

The Vista PEAK Invitational girls tennis tournament runs March 24-25 though impending poor weather may push the tournament to March 25. In addition to the host Bison, Cherokee Trail, Gateway, Hinkley and Smoky Hill all have entries in the field. Singles matches take place at Vista PEAK, while doubles matches are set for Cherokee Trail.

The Regis Jesuit boys lacrosse team heads to California for spring break for a two-game set that begins with an 8 p.m. MT visit to La Costa Canyon March 28, followed by an 8 p.m. MT contest against undefeated Torrey Pines on March 30.
