AURORA | The rematch is set for the Regis Jesuit girls lacrosse team, which earned a chance to play Centaurus in the state playoffs for the second year in a row with a first-round win over Dakota Ridge.

The Raiders lost to the Warriors by a goal in last season’s semifinals and though constituted of much different, much younger lineup, coach Billy Corbett’s team has a rematch ahead.

Sophomore Kathleen Roe scored six goals and freshman Emily Hammerstein contributed four for 16th-seeded Regis Jesuit, which blew open a one-score game at with a nine-goal second half for a 15-9 win over No. 17 Dakota Ridge at Lou Kellogg Stadium.

The Raiders improved to 7-9 overall and advanced in Quadrant 1 to meet Centaurus (14-1), the overall No. 2 seed.

Junior goalie Sofia Evangelista saved seven of the 16 shots she faced in the victory for Regis Jesuit.
