DEAR EDITOR: It’s time to show Mom we’re grateful. Mother’s Day respects the bond between mothers and babies. It’s a desecration for dairy corporations to tear babies out of mothers’ bodies and drag them away in mere seconds. Undercover footage shot by the Humane Society and other protection groups is heart renching. Mothers are electrocuted during labor. Newborns die crushed by the weight of others thrown on top of them in crowded bins. It’s the saddest sight I’ve ever seen. Mothers were so injured and sick, they tried to crawl on their knees to escape the violence.
If your heart breaks at the thought of this suffering, you can protect animals every time you go to the store. Groceries have cruelty-free milk made from almonds, cashews, coconut, soy and more. I buy plant-based butter, cheese, ice cream, and milk to stop animal abuse. Mothers should be respected — never brutalized.
