DEAR EDITOR: Different procedures apply for drug detection in schools than “on the street.”

Supreme Court rulings do not apply in the school setting as “on the street.” School administrators have the responsibility to protect their students and as such have the authority to allow or disallow K9 searches. I am thankful administrators are exercising these rights to disallow such items. General patrol K9’s may be trained to detect explosives associated w firearms or other dangerous ordinance.
