Helen Virnell Sconiers, of Natalia, TX, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2015 after a short illness. She was 68 years old.

Helen was the youngest of seven children born to William McKinley Mitchell and Helen Virnell Bullock. She grew up in Richmond, VA, graduating from Armstrong High School. She always dreamed of getting a college education and she made that dream a reality in 1982 when she graduated from Columbia College with a B.A. in Business Administration. She retired from the Air Reserve Processing Center and retired to San Antonio, TX.

Helen was preceded in death by her father and mother and her siblings: Patricia, Bernard, Billy, Winnie, Wanda, and Ann.

She dedicated her life to raising five children, all who survive her: Adrian Sconiers (Dean), Sonya Sconiers, Tonya M. Sconiers

(Mohammed), Robert Sconiers, and Christopher Sconiers, and by her long time partner, Robert Young. Helen also had nine cherished grandchildren: Keely (Harrison), Keaton, Kayla, McKinley, Xander, Kendall, Kobe, Mitchell, and Maya, and two great-children, Miles and Carter. She also leaves behind countless beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of Helen’s life was held on Saturday, January 2 in Aurora.
