DENVER | Flood warnings are in effect for the Denver area after heavy storms brought tornadoes, heavy rain and up to five inches of hail overnight.

The National Weather Service said Thursday there are flood warnings north, south and east of Denver, with streams running high.

National Weather Service meteorologist Jim Kalina says the agency received six reports of tornadoes Wednesday night, but there were no reports of serious damage or injuries.

One tornado was reported north of Denver International Airport around 5 p.m. Other tornadoes were reported near Grover, Kiowa, Elizabeth and Bennett.
