AURORA | Police today asked the public for help finding a man who may be connected to a Dec. 26 slaying on East Archer Place.

According to a statement from Aurora police, Eric Jesus Chacon-Martinez has not been seen since the Dec. 26 slaying of Rodolfo Martinez-Cancin, 23.
Aurora police spokeswoman Sgt. Cassidee Carlson said Chacon-Martinez and Martinez-Chacin lived together and were seen together the night of the slaying.
Police are not calling Chacon-Martinez a suspect, but Carlson said they want to speak with him as soon as possible.
Investigators say Chacon-Martinez is between 30 and 33 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He works as a house painter and may go by “Jesus” or other names.
Officers found Martinez-Cancin on Dec. 26 inside an apartment at 11922 East Archer Place. Police responded to the apartment near East Alameda Avenue and South Peoria Street that night on a report of a dead body there.
Police are asking anyone with information about the case to call Detective Todd Fredericksen at 303-739-6106. Callers can remain anonymous by contacting Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867) or by texting a tip to 274637 (CRIMES). Tipsters could be eligible for a reward of as much as $2,000.
If the person with information is Spanish-speaking only, police said they can call 303-739-6957 and leave a message in Spanish.
