AURORA | Aurora Congressperson Jason Crow’s 2026 congressional campaign reports raising $300,000 in the first quarter of this year, with $2 million already in the bank and the election almost two years away.
Crow, a Democrat holding the 6th Congressional District seat, has over the last several months become a national name, appearing increasingly on national news shows to talk about issues surrounding the military, the new Trump administration and national security.
The New York Times last month featured a story about Crow and other Democrats, referring to Crow as “a Democrat who may just hold the key to his party winning back the House in 2026.”
Crow was mentioned last week as a likely contender for appointment to a potentially vacant Senate seat for Colorado should current Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet win the governor’s race in 2026. Bennet announced last week he would enter the governor’s race, but keep his Senate seat and appoint his replacement should he win.
Federal Election Commission records show Crow raised and spent about $2 million for the 2024 race, chiefly against former ICE official John Fabbricatore. He raised and spent about $280,000.
Current details about Crow’s donors were unavailable on an FEC records website, but campaign officials said Crow will report 3,980 donors, and an average contribution of about $78.
His 2024 campaign reported that about half of his campaign donations were large donations, and about 30% came from small, individual donors, under $200 per person, according to prior FEC records.
The new list of donors show that about two-thirds of contributors are Colorado residents, Crow’s campaign officials said.
Crow said he’s preparing for a tough battle against Trump Republicans for every congressional seat.
“I’m rolling up my sleeves and getting to work to help rebuild the Democratic Party, stand up for Colorado values, and hold President Trump accountable. I’m incredibly grateful to the thousands of people, in Colorado and across the country, who have invested in our grassroots campaign efforts,” Crow said in a statement. “President Trump campaigned on reducing costs and making people’s lives better, but his policies are making groceries, housing, and goods more expensive.”
Crow has said in recent weeks that Democrats should focus their efforts, and campaigns, on the Trump administration’s impact on working Americans.
Crow was recently selected by national party officials to lead candidate recruitment as House Democrats seek to take control of the House.
Campaign officials said Crow will be touring the nation in an effort to recruit Democratic contenders in key races. Those responsibilities will include a variety of organizing and fundraising projects, according to campaign spokesperson Grace Wright.
Crow will be seeking his fifth term to the House in 2026. A former Army Ranger serving three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, he is a Bronze Star recipient, a lawyer and father of two.
So far, no other candidate has filed paperwork to seek the House seat.
