AURORA | An unidentified motorcycle rider was killed and three people were injured Tuesday afternoon when a car collided with the motorcycle at a central Aurora intersection, police said.
Officers were called to the intersection of South Dunkirk Street at East Colorado Drive at about 2 p.m. after reports of the crash there.
“The investigation revealed the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on (Dunkirk) and speeding,” Aurora police spokesperson Gabby Easterwood said in a statement.
The driver of a Nissan SUV was northbound on Dunkirk, and the motorcycle driver struck the car as it was turning left, police said.
The driver of the SUV and two passengers were injured in the crash and were taken to a nearby hospital.
The motorcycle driver, an unidentified adult male, was also taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his crash injuries, police said.
Neither alcohol nor drugs appear to be factors in this crash, Easterwood said.
