AURORA | The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office has identified the woman killed in a broadside crash near the intersection of Interstate 225 and East Mississippi Avenue Sunday morning as Amber Marie Hamblin, 23.
Hamblin was driving east on Mississippi in a Lexus RX around 1:20 a.m. Oct. 27 when her car was struck by a Ford Explorer exiting the off-ramp from I-225 onto Mississippi.

Aurora police have identified Cameron Smith, 26, as the suspected driver of the Explorer. Though Smith left the scene of the crash, investigators located and arrested him at a nearby business a short time later.
Smith has been charged with DUI and leaving the scene of an accident involving death. As of Oct. 28, he was being detained at the Arapahoe County jail on a $10,400 bond. He’s due in court Oct. 30.
Another person traveling in Hamblin’s car was also “seriously injured” in the collision, according to Aurora police. That person’s status remains unclear.
At least two other cars became ensnarled in the crash following the initial collision between Smith and Hamblin’s vehicles, according to Lt. Jad Lanigan, spokesman for the Aurora police department.
Hamblin’s death marks the 22nd traffic-related fatality in the city so far this year, police said.
