The Vintage Theatre troupe kicked off “The Drowsy Chaperone,” its second official show at its new Aurora home on Dayton Street earlier this month. The newest company in Aurora’s arts scene is tweaking plans for the rest of its season, replacing the planned production of “Strangers on a Train” with Jeffrey Hatcher’s “The Government Inspector,” which will run at the theater at 1468 Dayton St. from July 27 to Aug. 26. “The Government Inspector” is set in a small Russian hamlet, and focuses on the chaos that ensues after a surprise visit from a government official. The show is an adaption of the play by Nikolai Gogol, a comedy that was part of last year’s season at the Colorado Shakespeare Festival. The show will run from July 27 to Aug. 26 on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. Tickets start at $25. Information: 303-856-7830 or vintagetheatre.com.
