Aurora hoops season extended with premier A-Town All-Stars game March 26
JAIZEC LOTTIE
School: Cherokee Trail
Year: Junior
Height: 6-foot
2015-16 averages: 16.3 points, 5.8 assists, 2.7 steals
Season highlights: Coach Morgan Gregory’s Cherokee Trail team finally lived up to the immense potential it had flashed in previous seasons, as the Cougars finished third in the Centennial League standings behind Overland and Eaglecrest — which played for the state championship —and made it to the Class 5A Great 8 for the second time in program history. The continued development of both senior David Thornton and junior Jaizec Lottie had a lot to do with Cherokee Trail’s outstanding 19-7 season. Lottie grew in size and strength in the offseason and benefited from playing in New York City at the adidas All-American camp. He scored in double figures 20 times on the season and poured in his season-high of 28 in a 73-65 loss to Cherry Creek on Jan. 6, while he scored 18 points and dished out 12 assists in a 78-67 win over Palmer on Feb. 27.
Lottie vs. Aurora teams: Smoky Hill (4 points & 7 assists, 19 points & 8 assists), Rangeview (16 points, 15 points), Grandview (22 points, 13 points), Eaglecrest (9 points & 5 assists, 12 points), Overland (11 points)
