SAN FRANCISCO | The Go-Go’s are going to Broadway with a new rock musical, after a brief stopover in San Francisco.

“Head Over Heels,” is a merry mashup of the band’s 1980s pop tunes with a 16th century romantic comedy.

Band members tell The Associated Press they found the premise so off-beat and unusual they couldn’t help but fall in love it.

The show is doing a four-week warmup at San Francisco’s Curran theater, where the Go-Go’s walked the red carpet at a premiere this week along with producer Gwyneth Paltrow.

It opens on Broadway in July at the Hudson Theatre.
