r but that didn’t mean they allowed girls in the band. Slowly women like Alison Krauss and Ronda Vincent cracked the genre’s glass ceiling paving the way for bands like Della Mae, an exciting all-women bluegrass band from Boston that plays with an elevated sense of musicianship. They blasted through a set of traditional-sounding originals and got the sun-struck audience on its feet.
