Please Join Family Advocacy, Col. Michael Kindt, 460th Medical Group commander, the Buckley Youth Center and the Healthy Marriage Initiative for an exciting workshop meant to help teens become aware of what teen dating violence is and the affect it could have on their lives. 

Starting at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 12, Col. Kindt will kick off the night by reading the Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month Proclamation.  He will also briefly discuss how Teen Dating Violence can be prevented. Afterward, there will be a workshop presented by the Healthy Marriage Initiative aimed at providing teens with knowledge about how to protect themselves from entering into potentially dangerous relationships. 

Teens will also have a chance to participate in a poster contest. The first place winner will receive a $30 gift card, while the runner-up will receive a $20 gift card.  Rules for the poster contest can be picked up at the Youth Center. 

Poster Contest Rules:

— Teens will create posters centering around the theme, “#TeensDateSafe”

— The contest will begin  Feb. 12

— Winners will be announced by Col. at 6 p.m., Feb. 26 at the Buckley Youth Center

— The winner will receive a $30 gift card and runner-up will recieve a $20 gift card.

— Rules for poster can be picked up at the Youth Center.
