What I Do: I am out here at Bagram Airfield highlighting the amazing Airmen we have here who are producing combat airpower for the Operation Freedom’s Sentinel and NATO’s Resolute Support mission. I get to take photos, write stories, and showcase F-16, C-130, and MQ-9 operations and their people. It’s a great learning experience and gives me a real perspective of our mission in Afghanistan.
Being away from home for six months is hard. Packing up the safety of your routines and saying goodbye to your loved ones and friends is not something people who have never done this really understand. Every day I miss it, but someone needs to be out here in Afghanistan helping the people of this country rebuild and stop extremists. And that is a burden I am willing to shoulder to accomplish the mission.
