PUEBLO | Authorities in southern Colorado arrested seven people and seized $7.6 million worth of marijuana plants they say were being used to make hash oil destined for Florida.

The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office says investigators on Wednesday seized more than 1,900 plants and $250,000 worth of equipment used to manufacture highly potent hash oil. Police and federal agents also found scales and packaging materials used for mass distribution.

Some illegal traffickers have sought a safe haven in Colorado’s flourishing marijuana industry in order to ship the drug out of state, where it can sell for more than it would in a legal Colorado shop.
