DENVER | A man with multiple DUI convictions who struck and killed a pedestrian in Lakewood earlier this summer has been sentenced to 22 years in prison.
The Denver Post reports (https://dpo.st/2d09CL0 ) that 53-year-old Jonathan Dale Cordova was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to vehicular homicide for the July death of Ernestine Maynes. Cordova had also admitted to leaving the scene of a deadly accident and driving under the influence.
Cordova’s blood-alcohol level had been at three times the legal limit when he struck 45-year-old Maynes as she crossed the street.
Prosecutors say Cordova has six alcohol and driving offenses and had been on probation for a previous DUI conviction at the time of the crash.
