What he likes most about his job: The variety. In my brief time in the Air Force, I have done a number of different jobs at three different bases.
His goal in the Air Force: To continue to see different bases in the Air Force and progress within the JAG Corps.
Hobbies: Anything involving Chicago professional sports teams (except the Cubs), reading and golfing.
Unique Fact: I’m a huge fan of John Wayne movies.

Capt Ross Brennan joined the Air Force in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps in 2012. His first assignment was at the 20th Fighter Wing, Shaw Air Force Base, S.C. There he served as the Chief of Legal Assistance, Adverse Actions and, later on, Chief of Military Justice. Brennan was then assigned to the 354th Fighter Wing at Eielson AFB, AK, where he also served as the Chief of Military Justice. He arrived at Buckley AFB in the summer of 2015 and assumed his position as Chief of General Law. In this position he advises on ethics matters, contract and fiscal law, as well as administrative law which includes advising on commander directed investigations and Inspector General matters. He also serves as trial counsel, prosecuting cases arising under the Uniform Code of Military Justice and represents the Air Force before administrative board hearings.
Brennan was the Officer in Charge of the Buckley AFB Tax Center for the 2015 tax year. He obtained a new location for the center, new communications equipment and was able to double the number of clients and refunds obtained from the 2014 tax year.
Brennan received his bachelor of arts in political science from Aurora University, Aurora, Ill. (the home of “Wayne’s World”) in 2008, graduating summa cum laude. Brennan attended law school at the Valparaiso University School of Law where he graduated magna cum laude in 2011. He is admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of Indiana, the Northern District of Indiana, the Air Force Court of Criminal Appeals and the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.
Brennan will become the Buckley AFB Area Defense Counsel this summer. In this position he will represent Airmen who are facing adverse actions as well as represent them in court-martial.
