AURORA | One man is dead and another was left seriously injured after a shooting early Friday morning near East Hampden Avenue and South Chambers Road, Aurora police said.

The shooting happened at about 1 a.m. in the parking lot of the Hancock Office Park at 15200 E. Girard Ave., police said.

When officers arrived at the office park, near the northwest corner of Hampden and Chambers, they found one man shot dead in the rear parking lot.

Police also found a man with what they called life-threatening injuries a short distance north of the office park in the front yard of a home in the 3300 block of South Granby Street. That man underwent surgery, police said, but further updates on his condition have not been released.

Investigators from the department’s Major Crime/Homicide Unit took over the investigation. They believe both men were shot in the same incident, police said.

The names of the two victims have not been released. Police also have not released information on any possible suspects.

Police are asking anyone with information on the case to call Detective Randy Hansen at 303-739-6710.
