LOVELAND | A jury has convicted a man accused of shooting at a Fort Collins police officer, crashing a truck and setting off a manhunt.
The Loveland Reporter-Herald reports (https://goo.gl/2xvv3n ) Jose Ornelas-Licano was found guilty Thursday of several charges, the most serious of which was second-degree attempted murder. He is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 8.
Police tried to arrest Ornelas-Licano on Dec. 12 on outstanding warrants for failing to appear on separate drug and fraud cases. He then sped off and shot through his own windshield at a marked patrol vehicle that responded to the area.
No one was hit.
Ornelas-Licano faces between 10 and 32 years in prison.
