ASPEN | Gov. John Hickenlooper says hydraulic fracturing to free natural gas is safe and could lead to cleaner fuel for cars.
Hickenlooper said Tuesday the procedure that has led to environmental concerns and protests over drilling on public lands produces natural gas that is cleaner if drilling is done properly.
According to the Aspen Daily News (https://bit.ly/OWCxax ), Hickenlooper believes advancements for compressed natural gas cars will expand the market for fracking-produced gas.
Hydraulic fracturing, also known as fracking, is a gas drilling process that blasts chemical-laden water deep into the ground. Environmentalists say the technique pollutes groundwater and the chemicals are unsafe.

John Hickenlooper obviously has not been paying attention. I guess his loyalty lies with his sugar daddies: oil and gas bigwigs. How very sad. Wonder what the Governor will say when (not if, but when) we get earthquakes, poisoned water, higher rates of cancer, and catastrophic leaks.
Our Governor made a statement quite like this one previously, and had to apologize when he found out that it was not true. You would think he would learn.
Horizontal hydraulic fracturing has NOT been found “to be safe” by any means.
There have been over 1,000 spills, and scientific studies right here in Colorado
have found that children are at risk from the filthy air caused by fracking.
Maybe he thinks if he says horizontal hydraulic fracking is SAFE, people will believe
him.
SHAME ON YOU GOVERNOR. . SHAME ON YOU!
