COLORADO SPRINGS | The co-chair of the Colorado Springs chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union has resigned after posting on Facebook that he would shoot Donald Trump supporters before election day.
Loring Wirbel, who resigned Friday, tells The Gazette (https://goo.gl/onVKKf) the post was a joke and the reaction to it is “smear politics.” But he acknowledged it could be seen as offensive.
Along with a USA Today opinion article calling Trump a fear monger, Wirbel posted, in part, “We have to really reach out to those who might consider voting for Trump and say, ‘This is Goebbels. This is the final solution. If you are voting for him I will have to shoot you before election day.’”
Joseph Goebbels was Adolf Hitler’s propagandist and advocated for the murder of millions of Jews.

Had a conservative said something akin to this, the headline would be ‘post’, but ‘rant’ ‘hate laced tirade’ ‘horrible statement’, but that’s liberalism for you.
Quote: he acknowledged it could be seen as offensive”. REALLY. Could be. What planet or other state did he come from, that something that in print or spoken “could be seen as offensive”. Anyone who does not believe that is offensive, (not could be) is beyond help, unless we build some more mental clinics, and start teaching in schools with discipline. Somehow, through the years, we have developed a PC attitude ‘where anyone can do what anyone wants to do’ because they have freedom to do it. My parents would have had discussion with me, at any age. And Dad had 3rd grade education, don’t even know how much mother had in the 1920s. But all five of the children knew better.
