I am currently in Qatar with a civil engineer squadron that deals with contracts on different operations in the current area of responsibility and on base.
My job as an administrator is to handle the office aspects of the Air Force world and send personnel to different locations so they can handle assessments on pavements, runways, buildings, etc. I am in charge of 17 members and they’ve traveled to different locations like Tajikistan, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Djibouti, Jordan and a number of other countries.
While I’ve been here I’ve had a couple of different opportunities to participate in different training activates outside my career field. I got to suit up with the firefighters and participate in a training exercise with them, putting out mock fires. I was also able to get an incentive tour of a B-1 bomber.
I’d like to give a small shout out to all of the 460th Operations Group staff, the 460th Space Communications Squadron, and especially all the other military members, law enforcement and first responders who take such good care of us.
