LOVELAND, Colo. | Authorities are searching an area in Loveland as part of the investigation into a series of apparently random roadside shootings in northern Colorado.
A photograph from The Loveland Reporter-Herald shows about a dozen agents walking in a line down a closed street on Thursday.
A spokesman for the shooting task force, David Moore, confirmed they were following up on leads related to the shootings. However, he downplayed the search, saying investigators have done previous canvasses and that an unrelated incident involving police at a nearby hospital may have drawn attention to this one.
The search comes two days after investigators released a sketch of vehicle believed to be connected with a fatal June 3 shooting in Loveland as well as an attempted shooting the same day.
