The former Iliff Square Library and PC Center has reopened as part of a larger expansion of library services. It was closed Dec. 31, 2009, along with three other libraries during tough economic times.

“With the revenue issues of the past several years improving, the Aurora City Council and library staff are absolutely delighted to bring back this library,” said Patti Bateman, director of Library and Cultural Services with the city of Aurora, in a statement. “This library is adjacent to longtime library supporters, the Friends of the Aurora Public Library’s Book Outlet.”

An open house for the 2,100-square-foot facility is on the northwest corner of East Iliff Avenue and South Peoria Street, neighboring the Friends of the Aurora Public Library’s book outlet.

The library, in addition to about 3,200 books inside, features 10 computers with internet access and the Microsoft Office suite, as well as Wi-Fi access and the usual array of scanning, faxing and material pickup services found at the city’s other library branches.

An open house with refreshments and treats is slated for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, May 13. The library is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
