AURORA | Ten apartment homes were damaged Tuesday when high temperatures and string winds caused a fence fire to quickly spread, according to the Aurora fire department.
Nobody was seriously injured in the blaze that started around 2:30 p.m. on a fence at the Brittany Hill town houses in the 1700 block of South Pagosa Way.

Aurora fire Capt. Wendy Lippman, a spokeswoman for the department, said the homes in the area are close together and the blaze quickly spread to five buildings. Each building has two units in it, she said, so as many as 10 families could be displaced by fire damage.
Crews had the blaze under control in about an hour, Lippman said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Two adults and a juvenile were treated for minor smoke inhalation and later released, Lippman said.
The blaze forced several neighbors from their home for more than an hour as crews fought the flames and police cordoned off the complex.
Carolyn Mitchell lives in the neighborhood and was one of a few dozen neighbors watching the scene unfold from a nearby shopping center. Mitchell said he was glad to hear nobody was hurt.

“Everybody is safe and nobody is hurt, that’s the main thing,” she said.
