PUEBLO | The federal government says no significant environmental damage would occur from the use of explosives at the U.S. Army Pueblo Chemical Depot.
The Army said Monday it intends to use the explosives to destroy problem chemical munitions that cannot be processed by automated equipment in the Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant.
The depot contains 2,600 tons of mustard agent awaiting destruction under an international treaty. A plant to neutralize the agent is under construction on the depot grounds.

Can we trust the government? On the one hand we have gov hickenlooper who claims fracking and all oil & gas activities are safe and he drinks GREEN frack fluid — but they do not use green frack fluid in Colorado (or anywhere?) and adults and children are sick here and water has been killed here in the form of waterfalls, water aquifers, water wells – and the plan is to sell MORE water for complete destruction. On the other hand, there are reasonable, sensible, caring, politicians who plan for the long haul, who look to our future and who want to stop fracking — Jovan Melton for State Rep comes to mind, Renie Peterson on Aurora City Council, etc.
