AURORA | Arapahoe County Commissioner Bill Holen announced the launch of his re-election campaign Saturday, Jan. 16.
Holen and his wife, former Aurora City Councilwoman Debi Hunter Holen, held a kickoff party at their home over the weekend.
Holen represents District 5, which includes parts of Aurora.
Holen’s oversight as a commissioner includes the county’s community resources and public works and development departments. He also serves on the E-470 Authority Board and the National Association of County Officers.
In a news release announcing his campaign, Holen said that, if elected, he would focus on expanding the county’s open space program and “improving the County Works program to ensure the development of better job skills in Arapahoe County.”
Holen, a Vietnam Army veteran, also said that veteran healthcare and mental health issues would be “a top priority” if elected for a second term.
Holen also serves on the board of Arapahoe/Douglas Mental Health Network, Developmental Pathways, the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG), and Rocky Mountain Crisis Partners.
