Both Adams County coroner candidates Mike Arnall and Monica Broncucia-Jordan were staffers at the coroner’s office during the tenure of the previous coroner, Democrat Jim Hibbard. Both have experience working in a coroner’s office and performing autopsies, with Broncucia-Jordan having completed more than 1,000 autopsies and Arnall more than 2,000.

Coroner staffers square off in Adams County
By BRANDON JOHANSSON, Staff Writer
If history is any indication, the race for Adams County coroner could be a tight one this fall.
Four years after Democrat Monica Broncucia-Jordan edged out Republican Mike Arnall in a razor-thin race, the two are again squaring off.
In 2010, Broncucia-Jordan received just 399 more votes than Arnall in a race that saw more than 102,000 ballots cast. The race was a few votes outside requiring a mandatory recount.
Both Arnall and Broncucia-Jordan were staffers at the coroner’s office during the tenure of the previous coroner, Democrat Jim Hibbard. Both have experience working in a coroner’s office and performing autopsies, with Broncucia-Jordan having completed more than 1,000 autopsies and Arnall more than 2,000.
Under Hibbard, the office was regularly embroiled in controversy and both Arnall and Broncucia-Jordan won lawsuits they filed against the previous administration.
Arnall, who is a doctor trained in forensic pathology, has a lengthy medical career, most of that time spent in an autopsy room. Arnall did not return requests for comment, but in 2010 he said that in addition to the more than 2,000 autopsies he has worked on, he has testified in more than 200 criminal trials.
Besides working at coroner’s offices around the state as a forensic pathologist, he has worked in New Zealand and worked with CNN’s “Nancy Grace” show.
Broncucia-Jordan, who could not be reached for comment as of press time, does not practice medicine, but she said in 2010 she trained for more than four years with staff at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She has a bachelor’s degree in biology.
She worked at the Adams County Coroner’s Office from 2005 to 2009.

As a past employee of this institution I highly favor Dr. Arnall for coroner, the following link describes part of the reasoning behind this. https://denver.cbslocal.com/2013/06/11/3-adams-county-coroners-investigators-leave-in-24-hour-period/
