MONDAY, MARCH 25: The Regis Jesuit baseball team opened the All Faith Classic in Las Vegas with a 6-5 walk-off win over Mount Carmel (Illinois) in 9 innings. Micah Lui got the win in relief and Nick Wiley delivered the victory with a sacrifice fly.

SATURDAY, MARCH 23: The Regis Jesuit baseball team opened its season with a 10-0 home win over Legacy. Hudson Alpert allowed one hit over three innings, while he also drove in a run. Christian Lopez and Trevor Nordstrom each had three hits and three RBI to lead a 12-hit attack for the Raiders. …The Grandview baseball team saw a 6-1 lead disappear late in the 7-6 loss to Valley Vista at the Coach Bob Classic in Arizona. Kayden Bohmeyer had two hits and stole three bases for the Wolves, who go two RBI from Collin May. …The Smoky Hill baseball team dropped an 8-1 contest to Uintah (Utah) at the Farmington Invitational in New Mexico. …The Smoky Hill girls soccer team struck for three goals in the opening half on its way to a 4-1 victory over Littleton. …The Broomfield Shootout track & field meet saw some top performances from boys and girls from Cherokee Trail and Eaglecrest. Cherokee Trail’s Kaeli Powe recorded a triple jump of 40 feet, 4 1/4 inches that ranks No. 1 in Colorado regardless of classification, while the Cougars got wins from Kahari Wilbon in the 200 and 400 meters with state-leading times. The Eaglecrest girls ran a Colorado-best time to win the 4×200 relay.

FRIDAY, MARCH 22: The Rangeview baseball team rallied for nine runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to break open a close game for a 12-2 home win over Northglenn. Max McGinnis beat out an infield hit to drive in the game-ending run and had two hits in the game, while Rene Castillo, Micah McPhail and Sebastian Heredia-Ruiz had two RBI apiece. Heredia-Ruiz struck out nine and scattered three hits over five innings for the win. …Jax Pfister had the lone hit and RBI for the Grandview baseball team in a 15-1 loss to Hamilton (Arizona) at the Coach Bob Classic in Arizona. …A second-half goal lifted the Hinkley girls soccer team over Harrison 1-0. …The Rangeview boys lacrosse team dropped a 10-2 home contest to visiting Mullen. …Joseph Thomas racked up 14 kills, Meryk Wright was credited with 13 blocks and Francisco Beltran dished our 28 assists in the Gateway boys volleyball team’s 25-18, 25-19, 25-20 sweep of Vail Christian.

THURSDAY, MARCH 21: The Vista PEAK Prep baseball team rolled to a 17-5 City League road win at Kennedy behind 3-RBI days from Connor Angelini and Isaac Bond, while five other players also knocked in runs. Kent Luft picked up the win. …AJ Maroni and Easton Flores drove in three runs apiece to help the Grandview baseball team to a 17-0 win over Kirtland Central at the Coach Bob Classic in Arizona. Justin Dean allowed one hit and struck out six over three innings to pick up the win. …The Smoky Hill baseball team dropped a 6-4 contest to Aztec (New Mexico) at the Farmington Classic. Boden Crever drove in two runs, while Dash Deavers stole two bases and scored as well for the Buffaloes. …Alexsandria Ortiz and Rut Salinas tallied two goals apiece to lead the Hinkley girls soccer team to a 5-3 win at Aurora Central. Ixcel Soto Gonzalez also had a goal for the Thunder, which got four saves from Tania Ramirez Cardenas. …The Gateway girls soccer team downed Regis Groff 3-1 in a City League contest at the Aurora Sports Park. Angely Rodelo Acevedo, Maria Herrera and Noeli Herrera-Silva had goals for the Olys, who got seven saves from Carla Silva. …The Eaglecrest girls track team won the championship of the Denver South Raven Invitational at All-City Stadium, while the Raptors were second in the boys standings. Vista PEAK Prep claimed third in the boys competition and 10th on the girls and Hinkley took 23rd in boys. The Raptors girls won the 4×100 meter relay (with the top time run so far by any team in Colorado), while Zenobia Witt (long jump) and McKenna George (shot put) were their individual winners, while the Bison won the 800 sprint medley relay. Xavier Waldron claimed the 400 meter dash and Peace Warah took the long jump for the Eaglecrest boys, while Vista PEAK Prep claimed the event titles in the boys 4×100 and 4×200 meter relays (both with state-best times) and were second in the 4×400 an 4×800. The Bison had two individual winners as well on the boys side in Shaun Gurtner in the high jump and Nathan Hunholz in the shot put. …The Cherokee Trail boys lacrosse team fell to Sante Fe Christian 18-9. …The Rangeview boys volleyball team swept past Kennedy 25-15, 25-17, 25-15 behind Pethuel Ofori’s seven kills and six from Nicholas Tapparo plus four blocks. Adriano Aldave (11) and Javier Venegas Angel (10) had double-digit assists. …Meryk Wright had 10 kills and eight blocks, Amir Khabiri Nezhad had 11 kills and Francisco Beltran added 30 assists as the Gateway boys volleyball team defeated Thomas Jefferson 25-18, 24-26, 25-20, 25-22. …The Vista PEAK Prep boys volleyball team got 14 kills from Tristan Rowley and 12 from Liam Jungheim, plus 38 assists from Kaiyan Ivey in a 25-22, 25-22, 25-16 sweep of Regis Groff. …The Hinkley boys volleyball team got a 13-kill, 11-dig performance from Samuel Addai-Opoku in a 25-23, 25-15, 25-18 sweep of George Washington. Ammon Fifita added 19 assists and seven kills.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 20: The Cherokee Trail baseball team outlasted Boulder (Arizona) 12-11 in nine innings in Arizona. Landon Olds threw 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief to earn the win and he also drove in two runs, while Johnny Robledo and Akoi Burton had two hits apiece. …John Rossi doubled and tripled among four hits and drove in six runs to lead the Eaglecrest baseball team to a 16-5 road win over Doherty. Connor Brennan struck out nine batters over four innings to earn the win for the Raptors, who also got a home run and 3 RBI from Brayden Stufft. …The Aurora Central baseball team scored seven times in the bottom of the sixth to finish off an 11-1 win over Thornton. …The Regis Jesuit boys swim team topped Grandview 113-67 in a local dual meet. …The Cherokee Trail boys lacrosse team dropped a 14-9 decision to La Costa Canyon. …In Florida, the Regis Jesuit girls lacrosse team lost to IMG Academy 15-4.

TUESDAY, MARCH 19: Keegan Eberly struck out 10 hitters in 5 1/3 innings of work to lead the Cherokee Trail baseball team to a 7-3 win over Tolleson in Arizona. Logan Reid had two hits and joined Akoi Burton with two RBI, while Brody Ceyrolles scored three times for the Cougars. …The Vista PEAK Prep baseball team downed Skyview 12-7 behind an eight-strikeout start from Abel Salinas. Ezra Wise went 4-for-4 with four RBI and Royce Losman knocked in three runs for the Bison. …The Gateway girls soccer team picked up its first win over Hinkley in at least 14 seasons with a 1-0 victory at the Aurora Sports Park. …Kylie McMullin’s hat trick for the Vista PEAK Prep girls soccer team came in a 4-3 road loss at Mountain Range. …The Regis Jesuit girls lacrosse team lost to Plant (Florida) 11-7 as Madisyn Jokerst had three goals and Phoebe Rogala recorded two assists. …Tristan Rowley had 13 kills, nine digs and five aces as the Vista PEAK Prep boys volleyball team defeated Thomas Jefferson 25-17, 25-11, 25-18. Kaiyan Ivey racked up 27 assists. …Nicholas Tapparo had six kills and Pethuel Ofori chipped in six blocks as the Rangeview boys volleyball team topped George Washington 25-16, 25-23, 25-20. …Joseph Thomas recorded 13 kills and Amir Khabiri-Nezhad added 10 as the Gateway boys volleyball team turned back visiting Denver West 25-19, 20-25, 25-18, 25-19. …The Hinkley boys volleyball team swept past DSST Conservatory Green 25-15, 23-25, 25-14, 25-11.
