MONDAY, FEB. 17: There was no varsity competition scheduled for Aurora teams.

SATURDAY, FEB. 15: The Gateway girls basketball team picked up its 10th win of the season with a 35-33 defeat of Lincoln. …The Class 5A boys and girls state wrestling tournaments concluded at Ball Arena with total of 21 Aurora area wrestlers earning top six places. …The Grandview ice hockey team capped the regular season with a 2-1 loss to Heritage that saw the Eagles score two goals in the third period. James Lembke converted a pass from Christian Sorensen for the lone goal for the Wolves, who got a 39-save performance in the goal from Linkin Alisasis as they finished 4-14-1.

FRIDAY, FEB. 14: The Rangeview boys basketball team completed its City League regular season schedule undefeated with 75-40 home victory over Vista PEAK Prep. LaDavian King — who before the game announced his commitment to Southeastern University in Florida — paced the Raiders with 23 points, while Archie Weatherspoon V joined him in double figures with 15. …The Centennial League Challenge boys basketball tournament opened with first round contests that saw Eaglecrest top Cherokee Trail (as Lucas Kalimba paced the Raptors with 15 points and Jake Scott led the Cougars with 16), Overland got a 13-point effort from Kymani Eason in a low-scoring 45-36 win over Arapahoe, Smoky Hill rolled past Mullen and Grandview downed Cherry Creek. …The Regis Jesuit boys basketball team dropped an 82-74 contest against defending Class 6A state champion Valor Christian in a non-league clash that saw Eric Fiedler score 29 points for the Raiders. …The Centennial League Challenge girls basketball tournament began with two local winners in Grandview, which got 28 points from Sienna Betts and 21 from Maya Smith in a 79-12 win over Smoky Hill and Cherokee Trail, which had a single double-digit scorer in Ryen Galloway with 10 points, while Aaliyah Broadus had nine and Hannah Conger and Karson Chaney eight apiece in a 49-31 win over Eaglecrest, which got 15 points from Adaure Ozor. …A 3-pointer by Mia Orozco put the Rangeview girls basketball team ahead of Vista PEAK Prep in the opening minute of the fourth quarter and the Raiders held on for a 48-46 win at Vista PEAK Prep to gain a split in the season series. Devyn Davenport and Maddie Kilmer scored 12 points apiece for the Raiders, who also got nine from Zania Romero-King. …The Cherry Creek ice hockey team got a goal from Brian Kopeck and 41 saves from Payton Mills (Overland), but lost to the top-ranked Poudre School District team 3-1 and finish the regular season with an 11-6-2 record.

THURSDAY, FEB. 13: The Gateway boys basketball team earned a Colorado League sweep of Adams City with a 63-51 home victory to up its winning streak to two games. …The Aurora West College Prep Academy boys basketball team outscored Nederland 21-0 in the second quarter on its way to a 54-23 victory. …The Aurora Central girls basketball team outscored Thomas Jefferson 19-7 in the fourth quarter to earn a 38-37 victory. Jamaea Johnson-Gonzalez scored 13 points (including the go-ahead basket with 25 seconds left), while Ana Lua and Andena Torres had 11 apiece for the Trojans, who finished the regular season 12-7. …The Gateway girls basketball team finished a Colorado League sweep of Adams City with a 54-46 road win.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 12: The Eaglecrest boys basketball team finished a perfect run in Centennial League play with a 55-47 win at Arapahoe that saw Anthony Nettles score 14 points, while Garrett Barger and Kris Coleman had 10 apiece. …Miller Boyd and Jai Jegede hit 3-point shots early in the fourth quarter to push the Smoky Hill boys basketball team in front of Overland on its way to a 64-54 victory that put the Buffaloes second in the Centennial League standings. Jegede and Kaylan Graham had 19 points apiece to lead Smoky Hill and Carter Basquez had 17, while TJ Manuel and Mehki McNeal had 12 apiece for the Trailblazers. …Archie Weatherspoon V and Marceles Duncan scored 24 points apiece to lead the Rangeview boys basketball team to a 76-51 win over Denver East. … The Regis Jesuit boys basketball team dropped a 56-55 Continental League thriller at Mountain Vista. A 3-pointer by Zachary Harlan almost gave the Raiders a last-second win, but was waved off after it was determined he released it after the final buzzer. Eric Fiedler had 19 points to lead the Raiders, while Lucas Dickinson had 16 and Deion Cesario-Scott 12. …The Grandview girls basketball team downed Cherry Creek 54-32 in a matchup of teams that were tied atop the Centennial League standings going into the final game. Ava Chang poured in 24 points to lead the Wolves, who also got 14 from Sienna Betts and 10 from Deija Roberson. … A 25-point pouting from Jane Rumpf helped spur the Regis Jesuit girls basketball team to a 74-52 win over Mountain Vista. Iliana Greene added 17 and Alice Lynett 12. …Madeline Gibbs had 13 points, while Aaliyah Broadus and Delainey Miller added eight apiece as the Cherokee Trail girls basketball team won 39-33 at Mullen. …The Regis Jesuit ice hockey team finished a 10-7-1 regular season with a 6-2 win over Monarch as Nolan Williams had a hat trick and Easton Sparks made 29 saves.

TUESDAY, FEB. 11: The Gateway boys basketball team finished strong in a 47-39 win over Skyview. …The Lotus School For Excellence boys basketball team rolled past Cripple Creek-Victor 83-13 as Azaraya Regassa’s 16 points topped the Meteors. …Despite 17 points from Ual Yonas and 15 from Alex Flores, the Aurora Central boys basketball team fell to Colorado League-leading Thornton 59-50. …The Aurora Central girls basketball team defeated Thornton 39-23 in Colorado League play as Jamaea Johnson-Gonzales cracked double figures with 14 points and Andena Torres had nine. …LaRayea Jones contributed 18 points, but the Gateway girls basketball team fell to Skyview 65-29.
