MONDAY, JAN. 29: The Vista PEAK Prep boys basketball team earned a 75-64 win at Green Mountain behind 23 points from Alante Monroe-Elazier, 16 from Javon Lowman and 14 from Kyree Polk.

SATURDAY, JAN. 27: Eric Fiedler scored eight of his game-high 24 points in overtime to help the Regis Jesuit boys basketball team to a 71-65 overtime home win over Monarch. Damarius Taylor added 15 points and Lucas Dickinson had 11 for the Raiders, who outscored the Coyotes 13-7 in the extra period. …Siraaj Ali scored a team-high 12 points — including three late free throws that accounted for the final margin — as the Overland boys basketball team topped Grandview 51-48 in Centennial League play. Ronald Henry joined Ali in double figures with 10 points for the Trailblazers, while Jalen Dourisseau had a game-high 14 for Grandview. Cole Holtman added 11 for the Wolves. …The Cherokee Trail boys basketball team fell to visiting Arapahoe 55-49 in Centennial League play. …The Cherokee Trail girls basketball team remained undefeated in Centennial League play with a 52-43 road win at Arapahoe. The Cougars outscored the Warriors 13-5 in the final quarter. …Playing for the third time in as many days, the Grandview girls basketball team led from start to finish of a 65-33 Centennial League home win against Overland. …The Regis Jesuit boys wrestling team finished in fourth place among 11 teams in the Continental League Championship meet at Legend High School. The Raiders’ lone champion was Richard Avila at 113 pounds, while Richard Carrier (126) and Ryan Curran (157) lost in the finals. Dane Anderson (106), Connor Mohr (132) and Warrick Stanley (165) all placed fourth, Charlie Gross (215) took fifth and Genghis Golston (144) sixth. …Heavyweight Christian King finished in second place to lead five placers for the Rangeview boys wrestling team at the Les Mattocks Invitational hosted by Abraham Lincoln High School. Thanh Lam (190) and Biram Griffey (215) each placed fourth, while Caleb Maez (138) and Toka Saenz (165) each were fifth for the Raiders, who were ninth among 20 scoring teams. Gateway’s lone placer was 106-pounder Mohammad Amiri, who was sixth. …The Vista PEAK Prep boys wrestling team finished in 12th place as a team, while Hinkley finished 20th at the Mile High Classic hosted by Thomas Jefferson High School. Joseph Maes (285 pounds) won a championship for the Bison, who had the fourth-place finishers at 120 pounds (Ian Bacon) and 165 (Zachary Voltura), while Tytus Hettich took sixth at 157. …The Regis Jesuit girls wrestling team tied for 21st place and Vista PEAK Prep tied for 25th at the Chatfield War Horse Invitational tournament, which featured 46 scoring teams. Regis Jesuit’s Alexis Segura finished as the Gold 120-pound runner-up, while Taylor Minges (4th, 100) and Anna Christensen (6th, 135) placed in Silver. Both of the Bison’s placers were in the Gold Division in Taryn Holloway (4th, 190) and Amelia Bacon (5th, 125). …The Regis Jesuit ice hockey team got goals from Evan Michalik and Avery Osgood in the second period of a 2-2 overtime tie on the road against Monarch. Easton Sparks made 20 saves in the net for the Raiders. …Jack Ryan (Cherokee Trail) made 20 saves and allowed a single goal for the Cherry Creek co-op ice hockey team, which fell to Valor Christian 1-0.

FRIDAY, JAN 26: The Eaglecrest boys basketball team outscored Cherry Creek 8-4 in overtime for a 55-51 Centennial league road win. LaDavian King tied the game with a baseline layup in the final minute of regulation and Kris Coleman’s 3-pointer gave the Raptors the lead for good midway through the extra period. …James Brown III and Javon Lowman scored 14 points apiece and Julian Carrizales added 12 and Kyree Polk 10 as the Vista PEAK Prep boys basketball team rolled to an 83-40 City League win at Denver West. …The Rangeview boys basketball team fell to George Washington 47-35 in City League play as Archie Weatherspoon V led the way with 10 points. …Star post player Sienna Betts scored 27 of the 32 points in the second half for the Grandview girls basketball team —and netted the eventual winning basket with under 20 seconds left — as the Wolves won 53-52 at rival Regis Jesuit. Ava Chang added eight points and Maya Smith sixth as Grandview countered a trio of double-digit scorers for the Raiders in Coryn Watts (15), Hana Belibi (13) and Jane Rumpf (12). …The Vista PEAK Prep girls basketball team ran its winning streak to nine games with a 79-20 City League road win at Denver West. …The Rangeview girls basketball team paid a visit to George Washington for a City League contest and rode a 14-2 advantage in the second quarter to a 53-40 victory. …The Smoky Hill boys wrestling team earned a 70-12 dual victory over Rangeview in a crosstown dual match. …The Cherry Creek co-op ice hockey team avenged one of its losses with a 3-2 road win over the Poudre School District. Dominic Suchkov had two goals and Connor Wagner added another while Eric Burggraf (Grandview) had two assists and netminder Jack Ryan (Cherokee Trail) made 31 saves. … Vincent Cieslak scored two goals and had an assist, while Ian Beck added two assists and Marc Brousseau made 24 games as the Regis Jesuit ice hockey team downed Denver East 5-1 at Big Bear.

THURSDAY, JAN. 25: Hayden Von Boeckman poured in 23 points and Kaiemion Ashley added 14 for the Gateway boys basketball team, which defeated the FNE Warriors 72-56 in Colorado League play. …A trio of double-digit scorers — Charles Laurendine II with 19 points, Alejandro Flores with 12 and Camron Crisp with 11 — helped the Aurora Central boys basketball team to a 67-29 Colorado League victory over Skyview. …The Vista PEAK Prep boys basketball team rallied from a six-point deficit in the fourth quarter at Denver South, but lost 56-54 on a tip-in at the buzzer with 0.2 of a second remaining. Kyree Polk led the Bison with 16 points, while Alante Monroe-Elazier added 14. … The Smoky Hill boys basketball team had its seven-game winning streak snapped with a 62-58 road loss at Arapahoe. …The Vista PEAK Prep girls basketball team kept rolling with a 69-24 defeat of Denver South in City League play. …Despite 22 points and 12 rebounds from Sienna Betts, the Grandview girls basketball team fell at Mullen 56-54 in Centennial League play. Maya Smith added 11 for the Wolves. …The Grandview boys wrestling team swept a tri-dual meet with Chatfield (31-25) and Legend (56-24) as JR Ortega (113 pounds), Graeson Streit (120), Braxton Widrikis (126), Nehemiah Quintana (132), Jonathan Montes Gonzales (150), Charlie Herting (165) and Leland Day (285) won both of their matches. …The Vista PEAK Prep boys wrestling team won five of the seven contested matches (with victories to Adrian Pacheco (113 pounds), Ian Bacon (126), Gavin Fifita (138), Bryton Bender (144) and Zachary Voltura (165)) in a 57-18 City League dual win over Thomas Jefferson. …Wins by fall from Marco Duran (120 pounds) and Elijah Johnson (165) weren’t enough for the Hinkley boys wrestling team in a 39-30 City League dual loss to Denver West. …Marley Allen (110 pounds), Amelia Bacon (125) and Idaly Garcia (130) won by fall for the Vista PEAK Prep girls wrestling team in its 42-6 dual win over Thomas Jefferson.

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 24: LaDavian King poured in 29 points, while Garrett Barger added 15 as the Eaglecrest boys basketball team prevailed over host Cherokee Trail 65-57 in a Centennial League contest. Nathan Baack and Braylen Thomas scored 13 points apiece for the Cougars. …The Overland boys basketball team prevailed 57-51 over Cherry Creek in Centennial League play as TJ Manuel struck for 14 points, while Kymani Eason had 12 and Dontae Graham 10. …Aaliyah Broadus tallied 16 points, while Damara Allen, Karson Chaney and Talia Strode added 11 apiece for a balanced Cherokee Trail girls basketball team in a 54-44 Centennial League home victory over Eaglecrest. Shyann Farbes had 13 points and Jada Bobb 11 for the Raptors. …The Overland girls basketball team battled back from a scoreless first period, but fell to Cherry Creek 53-37 in Centennial League play.

TUESDAY, JAN. 23: Kyree Polk scored 16 points, while Devontay Bursey and Alante Monroe-Elazier added 11 apiece as the Vista PEAK Prep boys basketball team rolled past Denver North 76-37 in City League play. …The Smoky Hill boys basketball team rallied past Mullen for a 62-53 Centennial League victory. …Five players on the Aurora Central boys basketball team scored in double figures — led by Camron Crisp with 21 points and Charles Laurendine II with 18 — as the Trojans won a visit to rival Hinkley 81-68. …Kenny Black-Knox (22 points), Mareon Chapman (14) and Archie Weatherspoon V (13) led the charge for the Rangeview boys basketball team in a 79-25 win over the FNE Warriors. …Hana Belibi’s 18 points and Jane Rumpf’s 16 helped the Regis Jesuit girls basketball team top Mountain Vista 73-47. …Alayna McClain scored 27 points to pace the Aurora Central girls basketball team to a road win at Hinkley. …The Cherokee Trail girls swim team topped Cherry Creek 108-78 to finish an undefeated dual season. Sarah Woren, Emme Metzmaker and Ella Drakulich won two events apiece, Ava Zadigan also took a first and the Cougars swept the relays. …The Grandview girls swim team topped Smoky Hill 117-69 in a loaded Centennial League dual in which the Wolves swept relays and got two wins from Amelia Brown and Kaitlyn Hafer. Cameryn Walkup, Mya Noffsinger and diver Christianna Duthie won for the Buffaloes.
