AURORA | A look at the games, tournaments and happenings in Aurora prep sports between April 9-14, 2015:

The second half of Centennial League baseball back-to-backs is set for April 9, as teams that waged tight battles two days earlier meet again quickly in the league’s new format. Cherokee Trail visits Arapahoe after winning in a walk-off in the first meeting, while Smoky Hill — a 2-1 winner against Overland — welcomes the Trailblazers in at 4:15 p.m. and Grandview goes for a sweep of Cherry Creek in a 4:15 p.m. contest on the Bruins’ home field.

The Gateway girls tennis team plays host to Brighton at 4 p.m. April 9, as two of the top three teams in the EMAC standings in the early going meet in a dual match. Rangeview tries to keep pace with the Olys and Bulldogs when they play at Prairie View.

The first of two EMAC girls golf major tournaments is set for April 9 as the South and North divisions meet up at Coyote Creek Golf Course in Fort Lupton. The tournament tees off at 10 a.m.

Grandview plays host to Mullen at 5:30 p.m. April 10 at Legacy Stadium in a quality girls lacrosse matchup. The Wolves beat the Mustangs for the first time last season and would get a big boost in Centennial League play with another victory over Mullen.

Track & field has a big stage April 10-11 between the Pomona Invitational and Runners Roost meet at Mullen, as city teams and individuals face a quality test. The two-day Pomona Invite is slated for Jeffco Stadium, home of the 4A & 5A state track meets in May. The Mullen meet takes place on April 11 with an estimated group of more than 50 teams and 1,000 individuals.

The Smoky Hill Invitational boys swim meet is set for April 11 as the host Buffaloes, Cherokee Trail and 10 other teams seek to follow up last season’s blazing meet that saw records set in six of the 12 events. Smoky Hill’s Alex Kohlman is the defending champion in the 100 yard freestyle and the Buffs also won the 200 freestyle relay in 2014.

Grandview and Cherokee Trail meet in girls soccer at 7:30 p.m. April 14 at Legacy Stadium in a key Centennial League contest. The neighborhood rivals both got off to fast starts and the winner would be in great position in the league standings. Eaglecrest faces Arapahoe at 5:30 p.m. on the same field in league play.
