AURORA | A look ahead at some of the key games, tournaments and happenings in Aurora prep sports schedule for April 21-April 27, 2016:

Centennial League girls golfers head to Broken Tee Golf Course on April 21 for what was supposed to be the final league tournament of the season, but instead will serve as the fourth after one was rescheduled due to weather. The tournament is slated to tee off at noon, with Grandview bringing in a 25-stroke led over Cherry Creek in the title chase.

The baseball diamonds at Metropolitan State College of Denver will be jammed with Aurora teams April 21-23 in an attempt to alleviate some of the backups caused by the latest major snowstorm. Cherokee Trail plays a 7 p.m. contest under the lights against Overland on April 21, the Cougars return on April 22 for a doubleheader against Eaglecrest (4 p.m. & 7 p.m.). Grandview has a 11 a.m. & 1 p.m. twin bill against Arapahoe on April 23, followed by Smoky Hill taking on Cherry Creek at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The Liberty Bell Invitational track & field meet is set for April 22-23 at Littleton Public Schools Stadium, as a wide variety of teams looks to take advantage of what is expected to be excellent weather. Overland, Rangeview, Regis Jesuit, Smoky Hill and Vista PEAK are set to compete in the meet, which opens at 4:30 p.m. April 22 with a mix of field event finals and running prelims. Competition (all finals) is slated to begin again at 10 a.m. on April 23. Meanwhile, Cherokee Trail and Grandview take part in the Stutler Bowl Twilight Invitational on April 22.

The Eaglecrest Invitational girls tennis tournament is set for April 22, more than a month after it had to be postponed due to weather. The host Raptors welcome in a field that includes Grandview, Rangeview and Smoky Hill among Aurora schools, in addition to Arvada West, Denver South and Parker Lutheran. Hinkley plays in the George Washington Invitational April 22-23.

Grandview and Cherokee Trail begin a key Centennial League baseball series April 26 with the first of a back-to-back set taking place on the Cougars’ home field at 4:15 p.m. Smoky Hill opens a big set at Mullen at 4:15 p.m.

The Predators Cup is at stake April 26 when the Cherokee Trail and Grandview boys lacrosse teams play each other at 7:30 p.m. at Legacy Stadium. This is the third season that involves the traveling trophy, which the Wolves have won both times.
