A look at the games, tournaments and happenings in Aurora prep sports between Jan. 8-Jan. 14:

• Overland plays at Eaglecrest at 7 p.m. Jan. 9 in a meeting of two city boys basketball teams close to each other in the latest Class 5A Associated Press media poll. The sixth-ranked Trailblazers just beat the team ranked just about them, No. 5 Chaparral, and now take aim at the seventh-ranked Raptors in a game that has large Centennial League ramifications. The schools’ girls teams play at 5:30 p.m. Also on Jan. 9, top-ranked Regis Jesuit makes a 7 p.m. visit to Rangeview in another all-Aurora boys clash, while the Aurora Central boys visit second-ranked ThunderRidge at 7 p.m.

• Regis Jesuit and Cherry Creek play an ice hockey doubleheader at Family Sports Center on Jan. 9, as both teams look to remain undefeated. The Raiders take the ice first against also undefeated Dakota Ridge at 5:45 p.m., followed by the Bruins co-op team at 8 p.m. versus winless Mullen.

• Aurora Central plays host to the Intrastate 12 girls swim meet at 9 a.m. Jan. 10. The meet includes a mix of varsity and junior varsity teams from large and small schools with the unique twist of each team getting just one entry in each event as opposed to multiple.

• The Rangeview Raider Classic wrestling tournament is set for Jan. 10 with a 16-team mix of schools from multiple classifications set to compete. Aurora Central, Grandview (junior varsity), Overland and Vista PEAK join the host Raiders as Aurora representation. The varsity Grandview team heads to the Legend Duals, while Cherokee Trail wrestles at the two-day Shane Shatto Memorial Tournament in Wyoming.

• Grandview plays at Cherokee Trail in boys and girls basketball doubleheader on Jan. 13 in another chapter of the always-intense rivalry. The second-ranked Wolves girls take on the Cougars at 5:30 p.m., followed by the boys game at 7 p.m.
