LONE TREE | The Rangeview and Vista PEAK Prep Unified Bowling teams ended their seasons among the top teams in the state at Friday morning’s 2024 state tournament at Bowlero Lone Tree.
The Raiders and Bison qualified for the state tournament out of the Region 3 tournament, which put them into the 28-team state field along with Cherry Creek.
Vista PEAK Prep was the Region 3 champion, but it was Rangeview that posted the top score by pinfall among the two Aurora Public Schools programs.
The Raiders’ team of sophomore Brayshawn Jones and freshmen Isabelle Crews, Porter Easton, Erick Figueroa Rojas and Skyler Garcia-Bluh — and coached by Michael Lubet — accumulated a score of 401 in five games of Baker set play that put them 24th.
Coach Mark Bliss’s Vista PEAK Prep team of seniors Hannah Bliss, Jaymz Kaeser, Jayden Kitchin and Amelia Miller plus junior Robert Wilson had a score of 347 to finish 27th.
Northridge claimed the state championship with a score of 651, while Doherty edged Silver Creek by two pins to secure the runner-up trophy.
