AURORA | A look at some of the key games, tournaments and happenings in Aurora prep sports from Feb. 8-13:

• A strong slate of all-Aurora basketball games is in store for Feb. 8  starting in the Centennial League. Grandview is at Cherokee Trail at 7 p.m. in a rematch of a game the Wolves won in double overtime earlier. Both teams had a share of first place in the league at the start of the second round. Overland goes for a sweep of visiting Smoky Hill, Regis Jesuit tries to slow a hot Heritage team in Continental League play and the Gateway-Rangeview rivalry takes to the floor at Gateway.

• The Class 5A girls state swim meet runs Feb. 8-9 at the Edora Pool & Ice Center in Fort Collins as the state’s best decide individual event and team titles. Regis Jesuit will have senior Missy Franklin in the competition and the Olympic star will try to help lead the Raiders to their second 5A crown in three seasons. Swimmers from Cherokee Trail, Gateway, Grandview and Smoky Hill will also be on hand from Aurora, beginning with prelims at 4 p.m. Feb. 8. Diving prelims are slated for 9 a.m. Feb. 9, followed by finals at 2 p.m.

• Ralston Valley meets Resuit Jesuit on the ice at 5:45 p.m. Feb. 8 at the Family Sports Center in a rematch of last season’s state championship game won by the Raiders. This meeting has  implications as well, as both teams remain in the chase for the Foothills Conference title and a top seed for the playoffs. Regis Jesuit, still unbeaten at 12-0-2, has another big conference showdown at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 11 when it plays Monarch at the Boulder Valley Ice Arena.

• The EMAC wrestling championships are scheduled for 9 a.m. Feb. 8 at Rangeview with Aurora Central, Gateway and Hinkley on hand along with the host Raiders and others to decide the top team in the league. The tournament also serves as a final tuneup for the teams as they prepare for Class 5A regional tournaments the following weekend.

• The Rangeview boys basketball team has a 7 p.m. Feb. 12 home contest against Brighton, which has been tough to beat in EMAC play. The Bulldogs already knocked off the Raiders’ rivals, Aurora Central, and aim for another shocking performance. The same matchup on the girls side — which takes place at Brighton at 7 p.m. — looks to be important in the title chase.

• Centennial League basketball rolls on Feb. 13 with the Overland boys looking to avenge a loss to Arapahoe on the road.
