AURORA | Seeking the first state playoff berth in program history, the Vista PEAK softball team must finish what it started Thursday.

In a crucial game in Colorado 7 play, the Bison rallied from an early four-run deficit to take a 21-16 against visiting Fort Lupton before darkness forced umpires to suspend it because of darkness.

Vista PEAK coach Scott Lilley said the game would resume at 9 a.m. Saturday at Vista PEAK.

The Bison currently sit at 11-5 overall and 7-2 in league, which puts them second behind Elizabeth, which finished unbeaten in league play to wrap up the championship. Fort Lupton is right on Vista PEAK’s heels at 7-3-1  with a game left as the teams battle for the second automatic berth from the Colorado 7 in the 4A state softball playoffs.

Vista PEAK likely must hold on against Fort Lupton and win two games left with Alameda to secure its playoff spot.
