AURORA | Visiting Pomona won the Hog Wars competition for the first time by tying with Cherokee Trail in points, with the Panthers emerging victorious in the extra event Wednesday. The competition, which has been held annually since 2005, features seven events and is hosted annually by Rangeview High School. Eaglecrest, the three-time defending champion, did not compete this season. The event was founded by Dave Gonzales and is a strength and teamwork competition for local prep linemen.
