AURORA | A one-goal game after one period turned out to be the most lopsided contest of the season for the Regis Jesuit ice hockey team Friday night.
The Raiders — ranked No. 1 in the latest Colorado High School Activities Association’s poll — led Heritage 2-1 after one period at Family Sports Center, but hung four goals apiece in each of the final two periods to reach a season high in goals in a 10-2 victory that moved coach Dan Woodley’s team to 6-0.
Andrew Gleason, Sean Holloway and Carter Schick scored two goals apiece in the offensive explosion for Regis Jesuit, which topped its eight-goal effort against Battle Mountain a week earlier. Robbie Dembeck assisted by four of the 10 goals and Caden Balatbat, Blake Bridges and Ryan Williams had two helpers apiece.
Regis Jesuit goaltender Logan Zlot made nine saves on the 11 shots he faced.
The Raiders close out the opening portion of its season with a showdown with 4-0 Monarch — ranked No. 3 in the state — Saturday in an 8:25 p.m. contest at the Sports Stable.
