CENTENNIAL | Two undefeated teams skated into Family Sports Center Friday night and one — Regis Jesuit — came out unbeaten.

Cale Woodley and Carter Alcock scored less than a minute apart in the second period to break open a tie game and the Raiders held on for a 4-2 Foothills Conference victory over Dakota Ridge.

John Kane and Andre Dugas also scored and goaltender Sam Gartner made 21 saves as coach Dan Woodley’s Regis Jesuit team won its first game following winter break to improve to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in league play.

The Eagles (6-1, 1-1) drew first blood just 1 minute, 31 seconds, into the first period and killed off two 5-on-3 power play chances for the Raiders, who finally got the equalizer from Kane with the man advantage.

Late in the second period, after Gartner stood strong in the nets when Dakota Ridge had its own 5-on-3 chances, Connor Brennan rifled a puck to an open Cale Woodley, who scored from point blank range to put Regis Jesuit in front with just over two minutes left in the period.

Forty-eight seconds later, Alcock got a feed out high and beat Eagles’ goalie Joey Owston with a slap shot.

Dakota Ridge’s Andrew Endsley cut the gap to 3-2 in the third period, but Dugas restored the two-goal edge.

Regis Jesuit is back in action at 4:20 p.m. Saturday against Columbine at Family Sports Center.
