GREENWOOD VILLAGE | With a full lineup for the first time this season, the Overland gymnastics team placed second at Wednesday’s Centennial/Continental League Championships.

The Trailblazers — a co-op team of gymnasts from schools around Aurora — battled injuries to several key members over the course of the regular season, but had them on the floor at Cherry Creek High School, where they finished with a score of 182.3 points to come in only behind host Cherry Creek (183.9) in the eight-team field that also included some teams from the Colorado Springs area.

Coach Lisa Sparrow’s Overland team had three of the top four placers in the floor exercise, led by league champion Kellyn Toole, who registered a score of 9.75, followed by freshman McKenna Turbyne in second (9.725) and junior Devin Bundas in fourth (9.575).

Toole — who was also second on the balance beam and third in the vault — finished fifth in the all-around standings at 36.725, followed by senior Aimee St. Martin at 36.425.

Senior Ashlynn Graybill also placed in the top six in two events for Overland, taking fourth in the vault and sixth on bars.

Next up for Overland is the Region 3 meet at 4 p.m. Oct. 25 at Arvada West High School.
