FORT COLLINS | Another fantastic girls swim season for Regis Jesuit saw two of its coaches win postseason honors Saturday.

At the conclusion of the Class 5A girls state swim meet at the Edora Pool & Ice Center, head coach Nick Frasersmith and diving coach Kim Hagger were voted tops in their respective positions by their peers.

Frasersmith guided a young Raiders team to second place behind powerhouse Fossil Ridge after Regis Jesuit had won the past two state championships, which earned him 5A Swim Coach of the Year award.

Hagger won her second consecutive 5A Dive Coach of the Year award as she had three divers qualify for state in senior Kellyn Toole, junior McKensi Austin and freshman Anne Marie Kenny and all three placed in the top 16.

Austin won her second straight state championship — breaking a 10-year-old state record with 540.30 points in the process — while Toole finished fourth to place for a fourth time in her career and Kenny came in 11th in her first trip to the state meet.

The 5A Swimmer of the Year award went to ThunderRidge senior Annie Ochitwa, who won individual state championships in the 50 and 100 yard freestyles, while Chatfield’s Averly Hobbs received 5A Diver of the Year honors. Hobbs finished second behind Austin.
