AURORA | The Colorado High School Activities Association released the first Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) standings of the 2018 girls lacrosse season Tuesday and two Aurora programs sit in the top 10.

Regis Jesuit — off to a 2-2 start under new coach Kathryn Ames — currently holds the No. 4 spot out of 53 teams in the standings, which are used to make up the playoff field at the end of the regular season. The RPI formula is a weighted blend of a teams’ winning percentage, opponents’ winning percentage and opponents’ opponents’ winning percentage.

The Raiders take on Rock Canyon (No. 11) at 7 p.m. in their first game after spring break.

Coach Kevin Mortimer’s 3-1 Grandview team joins Regis Jesuit in the top 10 in the No. 9 position. The Wolves face off with Dakota Ridge (currently No. 5 in RPI) in a 4 p.m. contest at the North Area Athletic Complex.

Cherokee Trail (2-3, No. 26), Smoky Hill (2-3, No. 40), Overland (3-2, No. 41), Eaglecrest (3-3, No. 43) and Rangeview (0-4, No. 48) round out Aurora’s spots in the initial RPI standings, which change daily based on results.

The Buffaloes play at Denver South at 4 p.m., the Raptors play host to Kennedy at 4:30 p.m. at Thunder Ridge M.S. and Rangeview plays host to ThunderRidge at 5 p.m. in other action for local teams.
