GREENWOOD VILLAGE | The Grandview girls lacrosse team continues to come through in tight contests, as the Wolves rallied for a 13-9 victory over Air Academy April 9 at Stutler Bowl.
Coach Kevin Mortimer’s Grandview team — which prevailed in an 18-17 thriller over Dakota Ridge April 3 — found itself down by three goals near the midway point of the second half only to score six unanswered goals the rest of the way.
Senior Megan Matthews and junior Dani Armitage both had four goals and two assists, senior Kylie Thompson contributed three points and helped the Wolves rally with her work on faceoffs and sophomore Peyton Howsden made nine saves in the win.
Grandview has already matched its win total from last season of six with eight games remaining.
