AURORA | Time heals wounds and generally gives more chances.

A season after losing a heartbreaking contest to rival Cherokee Trail, the Grandview girls lacrosse team left nothing to chance with a solid 10-7 victory when the teams met again Friday afternoon at Legacy Stadium.

Senior Alexis Petrarca and sophomores Madison Marshall and Morgan Matthews tallied two goals apiece and the Wolves held off a late charge from senior Shea Butler and Cherokee Trail to snap a two-game losing streak in the series.

“I think these girls have been thinking about this game for the last 365 days,” Grandview coach Kevin Mortimer said.

Grandview improved to 5-4 overall and 3-2 in the Centennial League.
