ENGLEWOOD | Sophomore Morgan Sahm and the Grandview girls golf team tuned up for Class 5A regionals by winning the final Centennial League tournament of the season Thursday.

Sahm shot a 1-over-par 73 at Broken Tee G.C. to claim medalist honors by a single stroke over Arapahoe senior Hannah Wood, who finished the season as the league’s clear No. 1 golfer in total points. Cherry Creek No. 1 Callie Ringsby missed her second league tournament.

One stroke also determined first place as a team, as coach Mary Danielson’s Wolves carded a total of 329 to Arapahoe’s 330. Cherry Creek finished three strokes behind the Warriors at 333.

The three-player group at 78 — which tied for third — included Grandview’s Caroline O’Donnell, who cemented herself in the top eight players for the entire season in the Centennial League.

Cherokee Trail was the only other Aurora team to record a score, as the Cougars — paced by senior Faith Hope’s 89 — shot 443 to take fifth.

The final tournament didn’t change the final team standings, which saw Arapahoe (1,632) finish 22 strokes ahead of Cherry Creek (1,654) for the league title. Grandview placed third at 1,702.
