AURORA | The time schedule for the Class 5A Great 8 round of the girls state basketball tournament was released by the Colorado High School Activities Association Wednesday morning.

A few hours after eight teams advanced to the quarterfinals with victories — including top seeds Grandview and Regis Jesuit from Aurora — they found out when they will play Thursday at the Denver Coliseum, where they will seek berths to the semifinals in Boulder.
Coach Carl Mattei’s 23-2 Raiders have the first slot among the four games as they will face off with No. 3 Horizon (18-7) at 4 p.m. in a rematch of teams that met in a non-league game in December. Regis Jesuit dispatched No. 5 Fort Collins 54-50 on Tuesday night, while Horizon was busy taking down No. 2 Cherry Creek by a 59-51 count.
Scheduled for 5:30 p.m., coach Josh Ulitzky’s 23-2 Grandview team — fresh off a 59-33 rout of No. 4 Rock Canyon — takes on No. 3 Chaparral (19-5), which advanced with a 55-48 upset of No. 2 Denver East. The Wolverines have won the past two meetings with the Wolves when the teams met in the Grandview Invitational in 2010-11 and 2011-12.
No. 1 Arapahoe (23-2) squares off with No. 2 ThunderRidge (17-8) at 7 p.m., with the nightcap set to feature No. 3 Ralston Valley (23-2) going against No. 1 Highlands Ranch (21-4).
