AURORA | Sienna Betts still has two years of high school to complete, but she intends to play once again with older sister when she reaches college.

The Grandview High School junior star — one of the top three recruits in the country in the Class of 2025 — announced over the weekend that she intends to sign at National Letter of Intent with UCLA, which emerged from a double-digit number of Division I programs in the mix for the elite skills of the 6-foot-4 post player.

Sienna Betts —last season’s Colorado Gatorade Player of the Year — said she has had an affinity for the UCLA program since before her older sister, Lauren, entered the transfer portal after she started her college career at Stanford and ended up signing with the Bruins earlier this year.

Last winter, Sienna Betts led coach Josh Ulitzky’s Grandview program to a second straight Class 5A state championship with a season in which she led Colorado regardless of classification in rebounding (16.3 rpg) and blocked shots (3.7 bpg), while she also averaged 21.6 points per game. In the 5A title game against Monarch, Betts scored 22 points and pulled down 20 rebounds.

During the summer, Betts averaged nearly a double-double (9.9 points, 11.3 rebounds) and was the Most Valuable Player of the all-Colorado Hardwood Elite team that won the 17U national championship of the 3Stripes Select Basketball Girls Circuit in late July.

South Carolina, Duke, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Southern California, Connecticut, Oregon, Arizona and Michigan also were under consideration by Sienna Betts, who posted her list of finalists on social media in May.

UCLA has become a destination for several former Grandview stars, starting with Michaela Onyenwere (who is now in the WNBA) and now both Betts sisters.
